Trip to the Tip
Well, Jen and I have just returned from our trip to the northern most tip of the Australian mainland, Cape York.
It was a 2 week holiday where we drove our 4WDs to the tip and back, car camping, fishing, riding, and farting all the way.
The cast:
The Millenium Falcon (our 1997 Nissan Pathfinder) driven by Jen (a.k.a. Ewok) and Marcus (a.k.a. Yoda)
The Death Star (1981 Nissan Patrol) driven by Simon (a.k.a. Skywalker) and Rosie (a.k.a. Leia)
The X-Wing (Toyota Hilux) driven by Paul (a.k.a. Wookiee) and Charlene (a.k.a. C3-Whatever)
I've uploaded some of the photos on Facebook. Here are the links to the two albums:

Killing Time
One of my favourite sites a while ago was www.pointlesssites.com which, as it suggests, is full of pointless websites. I often log on to it when I'm staying up late before I start night shifts, which is what I'm doing now (it also explains the previous two posts).
I pulled out these nuggets the other day (see links on right of page):
1. Line Rider - have a go, then watch the movies. It's f@%king ace. At least I thought so.
2. Future Me - send an email to yourself, in the future! Amazing technology. Give yourself a surprise birthday gift in 10 years time! Insult yourself tomorrow! Read other people's public letters! G-rated fun for all the family.

Scuba Diving
Over the Labor Day long weekend (I think it was 2-3 weekends ago now) we finally got our arses into gear and finished off our scuba diving course. We'd done the 2 days of pool and theory sessions but were waiting for a weekend off together so we could actually get into the water and see some fishies and stuff.
We spent 3 days onboard the Kangaroo Explorer, which fortunately had been newly refurbished. Apparently before Easter it wasn't much better than a fishing boat. But when we got on it, it was nice and freshly painted with no rust in sight. Very comfortable and great friendly staff. Food wasn't half bad either!

Obligatory smiley shot before going in. As you can see I am a weak gimp wearing a wetsuit in 26 degree water. But I got cold without it! Jen's wearing a sexy stinger suit. Love that lycra.
We got to do 9 dives on the course; including a deep 30m dive and a night dive. It was sweeeet. We got to go on a few dives just ourselves as well and that was great. We didn't get too lost.
Hope there's more to come...

Mission to Mission
Here's some stuff we've been up to recently.
Uh, firstly, we went for a de-stressing mission down to Mission Beach a couple of months ago. It was awesome; stayed in a cool place called the Sanctuary and it was nestled right in the rainforest with awesome views of the ocean. It's a 5 min steep 4WD to get there or a 10 min walk along a beautiful rainforest track. The perfect place to chill out.
You can stay in nice expensive cabins or you can stay in cool flyscreen huts which allow you to hear the wind and the rainforest noises. We chose the latter option and didn't regret it.
Here's Jen chilling out on the deck. The main building is awesome; beautiful architecture maximising natural light and ventillation, a nice chillout lounge with books galore and board games, and good food.
This frog was under one of the tables. It was soooo cool. At first I thought it was fake, but then I saw it breathe. One of the backpackers still didn't think it was real. It so was. He just chilled out there for hours and hours... but he was gone the next day.
